Logan's Blessing

Logan was blessed in Church on Sunday. He cried through the entire blessing. It was loud. Thanks to Jed, Ken, Brett Burrows, Steve Wheat and Tim Plewe for assisting with the blessing. Thanks to our family for coming to Los Angeles for the weekend.

Logan's First Bottle (well, sort of)

Robin ate something that didn't agree with Logan, so we gave him a bottle of water to pacify him. It worked until Logan realized that there's not much sustenance to good old H20.

Final Four

Dad and Logan watched UCLA play Memphis in the Final Four. Logan seemed content enough. Dad was less than thrilled with UCLA's performance. They lost 63-78.

Vicki and Dana

Robin took Logan to see friends (Dana and Vicki) from her old work.

Happy Days

Logan started to smile this week. Like most everyone else, he hasn't really shown an interest in dad's jokes. He does like it when mom rubs his cheek, though.

Logan's Flannel Shirt

Grandma bought Logan a flannel shirt in honor of Grandpa Heath. Grandpa Heath was a brick mason and wore flannel shirts all winter long. You have to admit, Logan looks pretty stylish in his new shirt.

The Joint

Eating at "The Joint" (aka La Frontera Cafe) is one of our regular traditions when we go to Salt Lake. Logan slept through dinner, of course, but that didn't keep the rest of us from enjoying burritos smothered with chile verde, chicken tacos, beans and rice, and chips and salsa.

Aunt Taren and Uncle John

Logan learned an important lesson from Uncle John today -- get behind your woman.

Uncle Jed and "The Neph"

Uncle Jed can't wait until Logan is old enough to go to the sand dunes. When informed that Logan is a few years away from riding motorcyles, Jed responded that I could buy Logan a bike now and that he would take good care of it until Logan is old enough to ride. Nice try, Uncle Jed.

Aunt Brooke

One of the nicest things about coming to Salt Lake is seeing family. Brooke and Ellie have been hanging out with us at Grandma's house since we got here. Brooke thinks Logan is the bomb, and has already informed Logan that she will be his coolest aunt -- or else!

Reception for Logan

Today we had a reception for Logan in Salt Lake. Friends and family stopped by to meet Logan and enjoy some of Grandma Heath's good cooking. We were thrilled to see so many family and friends, and count them among our greatest blessings. Logan was a good sport, although he did sleep through most of the reception. Cousin Ellie

Cousin Ellie came by to see Logan. Actually, she really, really, really wanted to see Mason (and Mason was dying to see Ellie, too), but took a break from playing to hold Logan and pose for the camera.

The Thumb

Like his sister before him, Logan appears to have an affinity for his thumb -- or at least sucking it. Actually, this may have been a match made in heaven (or close thereto). Within minutes of making his grand entrance into this world, Logan found and began sucking his thumb. True story. When the nurse placed Logan on Robin's chest, Logan's little hands started to flail, they made their way to his face, and then, blam!, his thumb found its way to his mouth (fortunately, his finger didn't find its way to the next available hole). It was actually pretty amazing. He appears to be in good company. Legend has it Grandma Hipow sucked her thumb until she was 11 years old. Only 10 years and 345 days left to go, son.
