Cousin Ellie

Cousin Ellie came by to see Logan. Actually, she really, really, really wanted to see Mason (and Mason was dying to see Ellie, too), but took a break from playing to hold Logan and pose for the camera.

The Thumb

Like his sister before him, Logan appears to have an affinity for his thumb -- or at least sucking it. Actually, this may have been a match made in heaven (or close thereto). Within minutes of making his grand entrance into this world, Logan found and began sucking his thumb. True story. When the nurse placed Logan on Robin's chest, Logan's little hands started to flail, they made their way to his face, and then, blam!, his thumb found its way to his mouth (fortunately, his finger didn't find its way to the next available hole). It was actually pretty amazing. He appears to be in good company. Legend has it Grandma Hipow sucked her thumb until she was 11 years old. Only 10 years and 345 days left to go, son.

Uncle Kenny

Uncle Ken (Uncle Kenny, according to Mason) stopped by Grandma's house to see Logan -- and Mason, of course.

Grandma Hipow

Logan met Grandma Hipow (Heath) today. Boy, was Grandma excited. We drove all night so Logan and Mason could sleep. The plan worked to perfection. We made it to Salt Lake City safe, sound and happy to be with family.

Just Hanging Out

Sleepy Time

Logan isn't the only one who has discovered the mid-afternoon nap.

Game Night

Friday night was game night. Logan fit right in. Yes, that is chocolate on Robin's and Mason's lips. Girls will be girls.

Hawaii (Gimme) Five-O

Mar Vista Park

Today we took Logan to Mar Vista Park. He slept the entire time. Mom was happy about that. Mason and Dad played baseball, basketball, football and soccer. Whew! Back at home Mason and Logan spent more time bonding.

More Logan and Mason

Mason is really excited about Logan. She's a big helper too. She holds Logan's hand during his diaper changes and is responsible for making sure Logan has his binkie when he wants it. Mason is an awesome big sister!

Thanks, Mama!

Robin's sister, Candy, is expecting her second child any day, so Mama Buley left for South Carolina on Thursday. Mama's been a big help and we'll miss her.

Logan's First Doctor's Appointment

Logan had his first visit with Dr. Wasson today.  He weighed 9 pounds and was 21 inches long.  The purpose of the visit was to have Logan circumcised.  Dad sat -- legs crossed -- nervously in the room during the procedure, while Mom waited in another room.  Logan didn't know what to think.  There are no pictures, which is a good thing.  No man should ever have to re-live that event!

Let me see them peepers!

Bath Time

Logan was less than enthused about his first bath, but he rallied. Mason helped, and Dad just stayed out of the picture.

Utah Man, Sir!

Thanks to Grandma Hipow's handiwork, Logan already has his own University of Utah regalia.

Coming Home

Dad picked Robin and Logan up from the hospital this morning while Mason was at school. Robin was showered and ready to go by 10:00 a.m. Dad dressed Logan and then we were on our way. Mason and Mama were at home ready to greet Logan when he arrived.

Future Attorney . . . ?

. . . let's hope this kid has more brains than his old man!

Logan and Mama

Mama Buley came all the way from New Mexico to be with us for Logan's birth.

Logan and Mason

Mason met Logan for the first time this morning. Mason was excited to finally meet her brother. While she's made it abundantly clear that she would not have picked the name "Logan" if it were up to her (she prefers Peter or Sawyer; worthy names both), she loves her little brother and was very good with him. Logan loves Mason, too, and he had a little surprise for Mason when she got to the hospital.

"Sage" Wisdom: Hire a Doula!

Our doula, Sage, was invaluable during both labor and delivery.  I suppose that at some point I thought a doula was mostly involved in a pregnancy for the mother's support and assistance.  I'll let all of you prospective fathers in on a little secret -- a doula is a father's best friend.  Thanks, Sage!
